O colóquio internacional Medicina e Narrativa: Doença e Diálogo decorrerá na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, a 13 e 14 de Setembro, numa organização conjunta do Centro de Estudos Anglísticos e do Centro de Filosofia da Universidade de Lisboa, bem como o Centro de História da Cultura da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. De entrada livre, o colóquio reunirá eminentes especialistas, docentes e investigadores das humanidades e da medicina, profissionais de saúde e doentes, com conferências, painéis e comunicações, prevendo-se tempos para debate e participação do público. O colóquio terá também uma componente de disseminação artística relacionada com a narrativa e o sofrimento, com exibição de filmes na Cinemateca e uma exposição de ex-votos na Galeria da Biblioteca da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa.

O encontro é uma primeira iniciativa interdisciplinar que pretende aferir a viabilidade de um novo campo de investigação em Portugal, conjugando as disciplinas da Medicina, da Literatura e da Filosofia. Programas desta natureza estão a ser implementados com sucesso nos Estados Unidos e em Inglaterra (“Narrative Medicine” ou “Medical Humanities”). Os beneficiários finais serão não apenas os doentes como também os médicos e os profissionais de saúde, visto quer a análise narrativa quer a crítica ética contribuírem para melhorar as relações terapêuticas.Conferencistas
